Why FLF needs foster parents and what it takes:
Fostering is the ultimate gift which provides care provides a temporary home to dogs that need a safe, structured, and loving space as a steppingstone to finding a forever home. Fostering a shelter dog is a rewarding experience that is an integral part of rescue that prepares the dog for adoption. A foster is required to have basic knowledge of animal care.
Foster Obligations
- Ability to take dog to vet appointments (will accommodate foster’s schedule)
- Foster dog until they are adopted (we can accommodate your vacations/work trips)
- Provide safe, warm, loving, and structured environment
- Provide one or two walks a day
- Foster guidelines provided
- Foster liaison assigned to you and your dog to help with any questions
Setting you up for success:
- We will connect you with a dedicated foster liaison
- We will provide you with foster guidelines
- We will provide all the supplies: vet care, food, crate, bed, leash, tag and collar, toys and even a training session, as determined by the rescue
